The Current Challenges
  • To finish work of the incomplete Building. Lack of space is the main problem we face now. We are planning to construct the first floor of the existing building. Total construction cost of the building is estimated to be Rs.25 lakhs ($60,000) including the cost of furnishing. There are many new applicants and for want of space we cannot accept these persons though there are many deserving cases. It will be really good it we can admit at least 50 persons here.

  • Expansion of Occupation therapy Centre. Rehabilitation programs and vocational training is another project we have to plan, as no specific activity, which is viable, could be adopted. It will really boost the confidence of patients if they feel themselves useful and are able to earn something of their own. It will help to hasten the recovery of the patient greatly

  • Another area which we feel will be of great help is the expansion of our free medical camp. As it is very difficult to raise funds constantly we have to limit the number of patients and we are not able to help all the poor patients who are in need of support. Many patients and relatives come to us expecting our support but financial constraints limit our activities.

  • Our monthly recurring expenses comes to Rs. 50,000 ($ 1200) and it is not easy to raise this amount as we need.

What are the Remedies

  1. Assistance from the State Government. (This takes substantial amount of time & formalities. Cash crunch of the Govt is worsening things)
  2. Collective effort and Financial support from the Trading & Industry community of Calicut.
  3. Overseas donations & funds.
